Store leftover cupcakes in an airtight container. If consuming soon, keep them at room temperature to keep the buttercream soft. For longer storage, refrigerate in an airtight container, and let them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving to soften the buttercream. Avoid refrigerating cupcakes for long periods as the edible images may become soggy.
